Kidney Consultants International is a registered, not – for – profit organization determined to improve the renal health care of Nigerians by expanding access to dialysis and transplants at very reduced costs to patients.
Since inception, the organization has recorded modest achievements directed at improving the capacity of medical institutions to handle renal cases. Training sessions have been organized at DCI locations in the US for Nigerian Nurses and dialysis technicians, grants awarded to Nigerian medical professionals to attend international conferences, etc.
Dialysis Clinic Incorporated (DCI) of Nashville, Tennessee, in the USA supported us during the early years by way of sponsorship of some programmes. DCI has over 200 clinics scattered over the US and is involved in the provision of kidney health care services to patients andregular training of kidney health medical professionals.

Dr. Dolamu Olumide Bamidele Sokunbi
Nigerian born Board Certified Nephrologist in private practice in Nacogdoches Texas where he also serves as Medical Director for DCI-Nacogdoches. He is a graduate of the College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan Nigeria (1981) and trained in Internal medicine of the University of Ibadan Nigeria (1981) and trained in Internal Resident in the Dept. of Internal Medicine (1990/91). His Nephrology training was at the University Hospital, State University of New York at Stony Brook, NY (1991-94).
Mr. Adebayo Olakunle Sokunbi
Of Lagos Nigeria, holds a B.Sc. in Sociology from the University of Ibadan and a Masters in Industrial Relations from the University of Lagos. He worked for several years in the Cultural and International Business Liaison section of the Embassy of Belgium in Lagos, Nigeria. .
Mr. Oluwaseun Ogunnaike
OGUNNAIKE Oluseun. Akinlolu 44 years , attended Government College Ibadan for Secondary Education in 1973 and graduated from University of Ibadan with B.sc. Crop Science in 1984 with a second class upper division.
Presently the Chairman / CEO of Bethsaida Agrochemicals Limited, an agrochemical company based in Lagos .Started his career in 1987 with Rhone-Total (a subsidiary company of TOTAL) as Technical Officer but rose through the ranks by becoming the First Chief Executive Officer of Aventis CropScience Nigeria/ Ghana in 2000, due to mergers and acquisitions in the agrochemical industry, he opted to retire early in 2001 Dec to establish his own company which he presently runs. He is still a consultant to Bayer Crop Science Ag. Germany.
Widely traveled, attending both Local and International courses. He is presently the First Vice- President of Crop Life Nigeria, the local Affiliate of Crop Life International, the world body governing the sale.& distribution of Agrochemicals. He is also the President of Weed Science Society of Nigeria.
Married to Abimbola and blessed with 2 daughters, Mayowa and Gbebemi, devout Christian, member of the Redeemed Christian church of God, loves to play squash at his leisure and keen supporter of football.
Dr. Yetunde O.O. Taiwo
Phd, Pharmacology, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Post-Doc, University of California San Francisco, Departments of Neurology/Medicine. Research Faculty, University of California San Francisco. At Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals: held positions of increasing responsibilities (Senior Scientist, Project Leader, Section Head) up to Associate Director, Discovery Projects & Biological Sciences, Arthritis & Bone Therapeutic Focus Areas. Responsible for technical management for Portfolio of Arthritis & Bone Research projects from basic upstream research programs up to and including preclinical evaluations and filing of IND. This included the development of Disease Area Strategy, exploratory research, target validation, screening, lead identification & licensing strategies as well as fostering an environment to promote novel ideas, approaches and enabling technologies to build a robust pipeline of innovative therapeutics. Member of Discovery Management Team and Governance Body responsible for review, approval, prioritization and resource allocation for Discovery Projects across Therapeutic Areas and talent recruiting, development and advancements. Recipient of several professional awards and honors. Scientific Reviewer of American Pain Society Journal, Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, Brain Research, Journal of Pharmacology & Experimental Research, Neuroscience, Pain, and NIH Grant Review Study Sections (Neurology A, Neurology B, International and Cooperative Projects). Author of > 50 publications, several reviews & book Chapters, > 30 Abstracts / Invited Lectures. Inventor on 54 patents or patent applications worldwide.
She was happily married to Abiola Taiwo and a devoted mother of three wonderful children, Ibukun, Ebun and Femi. Yetunde Taiwo attended Queen School, Ibadan
Dr. Modupe Atinuke Sokunbi
Mrs. Modupe Sokunbi is an accomplished Pediatrician currently practicing in the United States of America. A permanent resident of United States of America who hailed from Ilesha, Osun State, Nigeria.
During the course of her study, she had her medical internship at the University of Ife Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. She later graduated from the University of Ibadan in 1982 and had her Youth Service programme at the Catholic Hospital, Oluyoro, Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria. She worked as a medical officer in the Department of Pediatrics, State Hospital, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria between 1984 and 1985. It was from there she moved to NNPC, Warri where she worked as a Medical Officer between 1986 and 1987 before leaving the shore of Nigeria for the United States.
She worked as a Resident in Pediatrics in Children’s Medical Centre School of Medicine, Stony Brook, New York between 1991 and 1994. While there, she was awarded for Excellence in Attending Pediatricians in 1992. From there she moved on to East Texas Community Health Services Inc., Nacogdoches in Texas till 1997.
She is a member of different relevant professional bodies including American Academy of Pediatrics, Nigerian Medical Association, American Medical Association, San Augustine Medical Association, Nacogdoches Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Nacogdoches Area Physicians Association and American Board of Pediatrics.
She has participated in various community outreaches geared at improving children’s health, supervised immunization outreach programmes in different communities and gets invited as guest speaker at school career choice programmes.
Dr. (Mrs) Modupe Sokunbi was voted one of the best Pediatricians in Nacogdoches in 2007.
She currently serves as Chairman in the department of Pediatrics, Nacogdoches medical Centre, a Clinical Assistant Professor in the department of Pediatrics of the Community Faculty School of Medicine, Texas and also operates a solo practice in Nacogdoches.
Mr. David O. Babalola Sokunbi
Of Abeokuta, Nigeria. A retiree who worked for many years as a schoolteacher before joining the Shell-BP oil company where he became Regional Manager for Public and Governmental Affair for the organization’s Western Division. .
